    About the Book

    Edit

Kristina Chan is a Canadian, Paris based artist, specializing in print media light installation. Between the fascination with society and the geometry of the city, her work presents an analysis of human perspective in metropolitan culture. This international collection of featured artwork crosses borders and mediums, time and space. "Cityscapes" redefines the geometric landscape. The city is in flux. It resonates with human will and innovation: a lived perception captured through light and shadow, cartography and memory.

Place has ascended the physical, determined by the moments that pass through it. We all leave traces, fractured momentary outlines that repeat and run a city. We spend our history socializing ourselves, building houses next to neighbours, cities within countries. Movements on an evolving map—alterations and abstractions bending to our will.

In the midst of our creation, we find ourselves entrapped, crossing roads and bridges in search for place and destination. “Cityscapes” describes the journey, the heart of the traveller, and the exploration that results from the suspension of belonging.

Kristina is represented by Galerie Artysne, Galerie éof, Galerie PCA and Galerie Nouvel Organon in Paris, France. Globally, she is represented The Linus Galleries in California, USA, The Artists’ Press and The Artist Proof Studio in White River and Johannesburg, South Africa, The Gallery on Cork Street in London, UK, the Art Way Studios in Vancouver, Canada, and is associated with Atelier Michael Woolworth in Paris, France, Keystone Editions in Berlin, Germany, Dieu Donné Paper Mill and The New School Gallery in New York, USA.
