    About the Book

    Edit

President Barack Obama traveled a long way to get to the White House. And he picked up a wave of support unseen by anyone in our lifetime. Not only in America but around the world.

Nowhere is the support more prevalent than in an establishment tucked away openly on Georgia Avenue, just miles away from the home of the most influential man on earth, is a restaurant and club owned by Alice and William Mukabane.

As original owners of Safari DC, they have catered to the community for more than 13 years. It is here in the heart of the nations capitol that they have chosen to live, to create and change their lives by following a dream.

Hope and change is not new to Mukabane, for they have lived it all their life. They supported a man who became president, as had their friends and fellow countrymen rally behind a person fueled by dreams as they all look up chanting, “Yes we can, yes we can, yes we can!”

Let me take you on a visual journey between the Mukabane’s relationship and the people behind President Barack Obama. Visit with Safari DC and reflect on our country’s most historic presidential campaign.
