This book has been made to honor my daughter Emily, who died December 13th, 2012 from leukemia. She was 15 years old. Even though she fought cancer for 13 years, ultimately relapsing 4 times, she never, ever, defined herself by her disease. Instead she chose to lead a life where she continually pushed herself to learn and to question everything around her. Her quiet determination had an impact on everyone she met.

One of her final wishes (second to last statement before laying down to rest) was, "Please do something to make me famous." This book is the first step of many, to make sure Emily's wish comes true.

It is based on one of her poems.
