well, transportation was by horse and wagon, and lighting was with kerosene lamps.

she was married with children, the population had almost completely moved from an agrarian
existence to living in cities and suburbs.
She lived through the great depression, and a world war, saw nuclear weapons used for the
first time, the advent of jet aircraft, the cultural upheaval of the 60s, the assassination of a president,
a man walking on the moon, and the rise of the information revolution.
