The photographs in this book were taken during an eighteen days trip across Thailand that I made in December 2013. The journey went through many different places, each one with its own peculiar characteristics, starting from the frenetic city life in Bangkok and passing through the tranquil beauty of the Andaman sea. The main steps of the journey were Bangkok, Koh Lipe, Koh Phi Phi and Phuket.
That being said, I want to state that this is not a travel book. With this work I do not want to report a diary of my journey, neither to tell the reader about Thailand‘s beauty, nor to show him Thai people’s life. My purpose is slightly different. I just want to show things I found there that were close to me; this could be a color harmony, a movement, a music, a contrast or anything else.
I should say that my photography is a search for what I call “visual alliteration”; luck, coincidence and music play an important role in it. From this point of view, the idea of travel is almost an excuse for me to experience something new, far from my everyday life, and feel out of an ordinary context.
To conclude, I’d like to say that every picture inside the book should be considered as a self portrait of myself.
