    Chaque année après le sacrifice du mouton, le matin de Tafaska, des créatures mi-humaine, mi-animal, sèment l'effroi dans les villages du Haut Atlas marocain. Ce sont les Bilmawens, agiles comme des singes, ils courent partout et distribuent des coup de sabots aux habitants. Ils sont craint et les villageois tentent de leur échapper, mais ces derniers savent aussi que leur coup de sabots leur porteront bonheur. En agissant ainsi, ils perpétuent un rituel populaire chez les berbères du Haut Atlas, une tradition indigène très enracinée dans la culture Amazigh. Ils feignent d'incarner l'esprit des ancêtres sortis de leur tombes venus tourmenter les vivants. Les Bilmawens confectionnent leurs accoutrements avec les peaux encore sanguinolentes des chèvres et des moutons dépecés la veille.
