About the Book
This book contains scenic photos of cemeteries in Ohio, Florida, Oregon, England, and France. [New England gravestones will fill another book!] You’ll find graves of some people who were famous (or infamous), of some people who lived with interesting names, and of some people who were wealthy or penniless. The scenes depict cemeteries from farmland to inner cities. Statues tell their own stories - weeping, mourning, or pointing the way to the heavens. And one even holds a real bird’s nest. Summer sunshine, autumn color, winter snow, and spring hopefulness can be seen throughout.

Teresa Straley Lambert, a teacher of gifted students for nearly 30 years, discovered upon retiring that her “hobbies” of photography, travel, and genealogy have turned into a second career. A member of the Ohio Chapter of the Association of Gravestone Studies as well as the national organization, she is now focusing (excuse the pun) on cemeteries and their care, restoration, and preservation, and gravestone symbols and their meanings. Residing in Findlay, Ohio, with her husband of almost 40 years, Teresa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Secondary Social Studies and a Master’s Degree in Gifted Education from Bowling Green State University and considers herself a life-long learner. Her other hobbies include reading (her Book Club recently celebrated 30 years together!), bicycling, and gardening. She is also a member of The Gaslight Gallery, an artists’ co-op in Findlay, where she shares her love of photography and travel.
