No matter what kind of photographer your friend is, a wedding, a street or even a macro photographer, you (or your nose hair, if he/she’s a macro photographer) will always be a favorite subject. Models expect to get good photos to their personal portfolio. You'll be happy with a good beer.

Models can have a bad day and be difficult to work with. You are supposed to be there for your friend and smile no matter what.
