The English Family History presents the family history materials preserved by Eugene English. Consisting of photographs, letters, genealogical charts (by Luther English), newspaper clippings, and many miscellaneous documents and materials, the book proceeds in three sections. The first third looks at the life of Eugene and Martha English. The second third traces the ancestry of Eugene English, looking at the lives of his parents, John Henry English and Rosella Jacques English, and their respective genealogies. The last section explores Martha Hamill English's parents John Tam Hamill and Jo Martha Wise Hamill and their respective family histories and genealogies. While the first third of the book will be most relevant to the descendants of Eugene and Martha English, that section also contains materials relating to other family members on the English and Hamill sides. The book as a whole is designed to preserve the family history and ancestry of John and Rosella English for all their descendants, as well as the family history and ancestry of John Tam Hamill and Jo Martha Wise Hamill for their descendants.
