Mom's life sang is the story of my mother's life as she wrote it to me in July, 2013; just two short months before she passed away. The book includes her original manuscript, just as she wrote it to me, and I've added family photos and poetry I wrote to her throughout the years so that we could all have our own scrapbook version of her history. Mom included tales from her youth all the way through her 86 years of life. She also included some final words of wisdom to us, and reminders of just how much she loved us all.
I went with my brother Les's title for his memorial to our Mom as the title for the book because it just seemed to fit. As I read through the stories she chose to leave us with, I couldn't help but notice once again what a happy person she was. Always finding joy in the ordinary activities of everyday life. She really was singing; at every time of her life - in good times and in bad. That may be the greatest gift she has given to all of us: The ability to find joy and share a laugh, even in the most trying of times.
