Una historia de un amor eterno entre mi abuelo, Pedro Maria Payán Duluc, quien en su vida artística fue conocido como "Chiquitín" Payán y mi dulce abuela Marina Vargas de Payán conocida en el medio artístico como "Criolla" Hidalgo cuyo nombre fue dado por mi abuelo. Les relataré historias desde 1917, sobre sus canciones dedicadas a mi abuela por el legendario cantautor y el amor de su vida. Su historia empieza con una relación llena de complicaciones y se deslaza en un amor eterno. Juntos formaron el grupo musical "Los Payan's" con familiares de ambos lados de la familia y nos dejaron herencias llenas de música y una historia de amor.

Raised in La Romana, Dominican Republic I had the gift of growing up in the midst of great musical legends. My grandparents provided me with a rich history and a left in their path a wealth of talent which have trickled down throughout the generations. I am inspired by the role that they played in the history of music in the Dominican Republic, their native place of birth. This book is my gift to them. I enjoyed gathering their short stories for my generation and many generations to come to enjoy and hopefully also be inspired by them.
