Le fotografie raccolte in questo libro sono state scattate in un periodo di cinque anni tra il Lago di Varese ed il Lago Maggiore, le magnifiche perle della mia regione. Amo le loro acque, soprattutto nelle stagioni fredde o dopo un forte acquazzone, quando i colori del paesaggio sono addolciti dalle foschie o dalle nebbie che si alzano all'alba ed al tramonto ed il silenzio è rotto solo dal lieve sciacquio delle onde. Sono stato impegnato in numerosissime uscite fotografiche sulle sponde dei laghi di Varese e Maggiore o nella palude Brabbia, aspettando per ore la luce migliore, spesso senza fortuna, ma sempre stupito dalla bellezza dello scenario naturale che si presentava davanti ai miei occhi.

The photographs collected in this book have been done during a 5 years-period, in the area of Lake Maggiore and Lake Varese, two magnificent pearls of Italy. I really love their waters, especially during the cold season or after heavy rains, when the colours are softened by the slight mists or by the fog that rise at dawn or dusk and the silence is only broken by the gentle sway of the waves. I have been involved in numerous photographic sessions, waiting for the good light, often unsuccessfully, but always amazed by the beauty of the natural scenery that appeared beyond my eyes.
