    About the Book

    Edit

I wrote this book primarily for my children, their cousins and offspring. I wanted them to know about the life that my family and I experienced growing up in the 1950s-70 in Hopetoun, a small country town in the southern Mallee of Victoria. I also wanted them to know about the huge contribution made by my parents to the community of Hopetoun and the rural industry in Australia.

I grew up in the small country town of Hopetoun Victoria, Australia. I was educated at Hopetoun Primary School and Higher Elementary School then I attended St Leonard’s PGC and Monash University in Melbourne. I was motivated to write this book to record information about my immediate family for my children and future generations. I believe that it is important to know about our ancestors and who they were and what they achieved. I am particularly proud of my parents and I felt that their achievements in the community of Hopetoun and towards primary industry in Australia needed to be documented. I have done this along with my memories of Hopetoun and the community in which I spent the first 13 years of my life mid last century.
