Ringkuhkämpfe sind eine im Wallis/Schweiz fest verankerte Tradition. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Kühe der Eringer Rasse. Die Tiere zeigen eine natürliche Kampflust um die Hierarchie in der Herde herzustellen. Die Kämpfe werden im Wallis seit den 1920er Jahren in Form von Turnieren organisiert. Sie verlaufen im Allgemeinen ohne Verletzungen. Jeden Frühling versammeln sich etwa 15.000 Besucher in Aproz zum Kantonalen Finale.



Hérens breed cowfightings are a deeply rooted tradition in Valais/Switzerland. In the centre of attention are the cows of the Hérens breed. The animals show a natural combativeness to command a certain hierarchy. Since the 1920s these fights are organized in terms of tournaments. They run without injuries. Every spring around 15 000 visitors assemble in Aproz for the national festival of Hérens breed.
