About the Book
My name is Tommy O’Laughlin. Last summer I became the fortunate recipient of an undergraduate research grant at Saint John’s University—no, the one in Minnesota. After a competitive proposal review, just five students were chosen for this program. I was one of them.
The award, in all of its benevolence, allowed me to focus on a customized project for the entire summer. I had ten paid weeks to work on my honors thesis project. Needless to say, I was ecstatic.
Within these short ten weeks, I took over 3,500 images and constructed over 50 complex composites. The goal: six completed artworks to convey an ever-evolving concept.
Join me through this artistic process, as the ideas and conception mature into a completed set of communicative works.
