About the Book
This catalogue features student work from two exhibitions in 2012, one in the College of Architecture & Urban Studies at Virginia Tech and the second at the Virginia Tech Research Center in Arlington,Virginia. This book is the hardcover with dust jacket and premium paper version, updated as of 21 March, 2013.
Form is a spatial language for design that conveys qualities, not quantities. However, like other languages, form is underpinned with semantics, syntax, and a morphology. As an exploration of these components, this exhibition catalogue features work (2011-2012) from the 2nd-year studio (40 students) of the Industrial Design Program at Virginia Tech. The exhibits include selections from 8 projects, corresponding to 5 different form exercises and 3 form products.
