About the Book
Why is it that people choose to live in Door County? There are as many reasons as there are residents - the beauty of the parks, the draw of the water, the quaintness of the villages, the arts, the people, the traditions, and the history. And how did those who do live here make the dream of living in Door County come true?
Through the stories of a few Door County residents, combined with photos that creatively capture the spirituality and beauty of the setting and their homes, we want to share with you the journeys of a few who now call this place home, partially in hope that it may inspire others of you to make the same journey. You’ll find in some of the stories that choosing to live here was more of an innate, spiritual tug from the generations preceding them; while for others, it was a desire to begin to create their own family history; and still others, after visiting, simply could not see themselves living anywhere else.
