    About the Book

    Edit

It is hard to think of Berlin without thinking about World War 2. It was a war that many see as a continuation of the Great War of 1914 to 1918. The tumultuous Weimar years in Germany that followed led to a tremendous social, economic, and political change. Berlin became a breeding ground for such change. January 30, 1933 was the date when Berlin changed forever. Hitler's Thousand Year Reich took hold and the result would be another World War and 50 million victims. This book traces some of the buildings, memorials, scars, and memories from a time which has yet to slip away in Berlin. The goal is to illustrate that in Berlin today remains a past which lives on.
