On April 26th 1986, a reactor blew in the Chernobyl power plant in the Ukraine. 2011 marked the 25th anniversary of the catastrophe. The same year Japan was hit with a 8.9 magnitude earthquake, causing tsunamis to flood, and eventually, blow the reactors at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
