This book is a collection of essays and photographs. The essays are from three different authors, each addressing its own unique view on the world and how people exist within it. Although these articles are so diverse in subject and explain rather complex and abstract ideas, they do coincide with one overarching concept, the idea of “being” or “beingness.” Each one of these essays discusses a different state of being or existence. They tell you how to be and how not to be.

In short we exist through the things we do, see, express. The photography seen throughout this book was my own interpretation of the essays. For the duration of this project I photographed my life, by being, my existence. I took photographs of the things I experienced, the things I saw, and the things I deemed beautiful or viewed as art. I felt that the images I took could not be separated out into the three distinct topics of each essay, so the images run through the book as one continuous exploration.
