About the Creator
In November of 2010 I was diagnosed as having Lymphoma and was subsequently treated at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. During this time I made notes about my feelings and thoughts of this experience. I have now made these notes into a book called “Out of the Fog” in response to my head clearing as a the treatment began to take effect. As I was trained in the visual arts I have used photographs taken before, during and after my treatment to add a visual quality to my book. I have a love and passion for the visual world and expressing my thoughts in ceramics and Photography is my way of achieving this objective. One of the main points I wanted to make in the book was that being involved in creative work can change and enhance a persons life and I believe this helped me get through the treatment. I taught ceramics, drawing and design in TAFE for more than eleven years. During my time as a lecturer I saw the transformation of people as they explored the possibilities in art practice
