    About the Book

Book One: "In Which P. Dunk Shoots the Moon"

In the first of P. Dunk Skiddlewink's adventures, In Which P. Dunk Shoots the Moon, you will meet P. Dunk, a desert lizard, and his compatriots who love to carouse in Dry Gulch Canyon, their desert home. The cast of characters in Book One include such notables as Charlie Coyote and Carl and Windy Highcliff, the Ravens. Coyotes and Ravens have long been known as tricksters, and for good reason.

In Book One, P. Dunk comes home after a long day of "fly fishing" to find that the cozy tin can that he has, for many years called home, is uncharacteristical-ly missing.

What ensues is part mystery and part trickster-tricking-trickster, while P. Dunk searches for his lost home with the help of his Canyon friends. Each critter has its own quirky qualities, which they offer to help P. Dunk, with humorous results. At the end of the story, we even find out the answer to the age-old question that geologists have been trying to answer for over a hundred years, "How was the Grand Canyon actually formed?"

Ages: P. Dunk Skiddlewink is appropriate for reading fun from 4-16 years old. It's a mixture of Winnie the Pooh meets Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam meets the true beauty of the Southwest American Desert. The characters and their environment are educationally accurate as to life in the desert of the Colorado Plateau (Southern Utah and Northern Arizona) and is a fun teaching companion for any Parent who wants to relive wildlife sightings with their children or prepare them for an upcoming trip to this glorious area full of stunning National Parks (such as Grand Canyon National Park, Zion, Arches, Canyonlands, Lake Powell and similar state parks).
