About the Book
The Park of Aqueducts is a large public green area located at the southern outskirts of Rome, and is part of the Regional Park of the Ancient Appian Way. The Park of Aqueducts contains the remains of 6 Roman aqueducts, which were built between 272 BC and 52 AD. The aqueducts were the main water supply to Rome during the imperial period - carrying a water flow estimated at 13 cubic meter per second - and were in operation constantly untill the destruction by the Goths in 537 AD. A seventh aqueduct was added under the Papacy of Sixtus V at the end of the XVI century.
Today the Park of Aqueducts is a recreational area, quite popular for walking, jogging and open-air activities. In this book, I present some photos of this unique landscape taken during my visits from 2007 to 2012.
