Die Völklinger Hütte - ein spannender Ort zum Fotografieren.
Einst blühender Industriestandort, heute wieder blühende Natur inmitten von Ruinen, Rohrleitungen und Maschinen. Ein Ort an dem die Zeit still zu stehen scheint. Beim Durchstreifen des teilweise surreal anmutenden Geländes ahnt man, wie die Menschen hier unter härtesten Bedingungen gearbeitet haben und wie all die Maschinen mit Ihrer Technik einst einen der größten Produktionsstandort für Eisen und Stahl in Deutschland am Laufen hielten. Gleichzeitig ist man fasziniert von der Aura der Ruinen und der Ästhetik der Maschinen. Die Fotos, die ich bei meinen beiden Streifzügen am 26. April 2011 und am 13. April 2012 gemacht habe, sollen die Realtät nicht objektiv abbilden. Vielmehr zeigen sie meine eigene, höchst subjektive Interpretation der Wirklichkeit.

The Völklingen Ironworks, an exciting place for photographers.
Once a site alive with industry, it is now alive with nature featuring ruins, pipe lines, and machinery. A place where time seems to have stood still. Take a stroll through the surrealistic setting of what was once one of the biggest production sites in Germany. You can nearly feel how grueling the conditions were for the workers here and how the machinery churning out iron and steel kept the country going strong. At the same time, the aura of the ruins and aesthetics of the machinery can fascinate you over and over again. I do not lay any claim to the objectivity of the photos I made on my two trips to this site on April 26, 2011 and April 13, 2012. Instead of this, they show my own, very subjective interpretation of reality.
