The photographs are abstracts of the East Side Gallery in Berlin which was established to formalise the subversive work of protesters and graffiti artists who used the Berlin Wall to voice their dissent during the Cold War. The abstracts question the legitimacy of the wall and have been chosen to reflect both the devisive nature of the wall and to celebrate the people's resolve, determination and ultimate triumph.
