Dandyism is when a male has a very unique sense of fashion true to their own personality and behavior. The idea of men being fashionable and dandy is an age old tradition that has evolved over the years, and is still in full effect today.In history dandyism began with the English aristocrats, and people of wealth and culture such as poets. A fashionable male makes a statement with his clothing, and tends to exceed the social norm within fashion.



With the presence of a well dressed man, often comes the question of sexuality. The Fashionable man is said to be a stylish creature, ultra-conscience of clothes, a "mirror man", and a hedonist. As a result of this stereotypical assumption society has coined terms such as dandy, metrosexual, and "gender benders" to describe the eccentric male, though sexuality isn't always a factor. Dandies are viewed more as feminine men because of their keen fashion sense, when in reality fashion has no set gender. It is neither strictly male or female. Its universal.



DandyMan focuses on the well dressed man and his sexuality. In This series various men of different sexual orientation have been photographed. They are all dressed according to their personal tastes and unintentionally, yet automatically, take on stereotypes according to their fashion sense.
