David Yun grew up the child of Chinese immigrants in Livonia, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit that holds the title as "The Whitest Large City in the United States." He is currently is an MFA student studying at the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI). Yun's work spans a variety of mediums including film/video, photography, social practice, and installation. His films and videos have screened as part of numerous film festivals including the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), European Media Arts Festival, New York International Asian American Film Festival, Sydney Underground Film Festival, and Documenta Madrid 08.
