This photo series takes a form of a dream sequence in which one is subjected to an uneven stream of seemingly unrelated images. Shadows invade, allegories cease to exist and nightmares become reality.

En résonance avec les inquiétudes eschatologiques cette série photographique prend la forme d’une séquence de rêve au cours de laquelle un individu serait confronté à une suite apparemment aléatoire des visions. Yury Toroptsov
Paris, France

Born in 1974 near Vladivostok, Yury Toroptsov left Russia on a scholarship to study at the New School for Social Research in New York, and has since lived between cultures that his photographs bring into dialogue through recurring themes of identity, memory, metamorphosis and the persistence of myth in ordinary lives. A Diploma Candidate at the C.G. Jung Institute in Küsnacht, he approaches the photograph as a symbolic act. He lives and works in Paris.
