    About the Book

    Edit

'The Way I See It' is a collection of photographs taken betwen 2002 and 2011, divided into four chapters. The first two chapters are landscape images:

'Home' - images of my homeland, New Zealand - Aotearoa - some taken with feet firmly on the ground, others whilst leaning out of a light aircraft.

'Away' - a selection from some of the places around the world I've been lucky enough to visit or to live in.

The final chapters are of two favourite, but very different subjects:

'Automotive' - a chapter that combines my passions for photography and classic cars.

'Flora' - my attempts to capture the colour of the natural world.

Many of the images are of textures, patterns and details - a part rather than a whole. This, I guess, is how I see the world, what I find memorable.

I’ve been an enthusiastic photographer since the mid seventies, initially using Minolta manual focus equipment. I made the move to digital in 2003, first with a Canon compact, then an EOS 20D and now a 7D. I still shoot some film using a Hasselblad X-Pan with 45mm and 90mm lenses. I’m very fortunate that my work has taken me around the world and helps me to indulge my passions for photography, travel and motorsport.
