Two short novels written just over a century ago - genuine historical works, giving a real essence of family life in the times depicted. The Grange starts in the mid-18th century with two horsemen on a mission and riding at haste through the countryside. Triscott Manor begins in the late-19th century when a middle-aged Baronet receives a letter containing unsettling news.



Tragedy, envy and romance all play a part in these two stories. The author cleverly describes family lives, interlacing a variety of characters and key events. Triscott Manor is set in Victorian England, whereas The Grange takes place earlier, in the time of George III.



Compelling reading and recommended to all ages; written in 1910 by a young Edwardian lady, and little changed from the original.
