About the Book
This book is a product of a semester long Thesis project for a degree in Fine Arts from Mississippi State University. These self-portraits provide a pinhole view to the resulting self-image and the emotions I experienced as I struggled to find value in myself as an individual, a wife, and an artist, through the expectations and obligations of the still prevalent conventional gender roles.
The images were taken with the wooden pinhole camera you see here, using 4x5” sheet film and then were digitally printed at their original size.
