About the Book
A collection of poems and photographs that sometimes pairs comedy with elegy, SECOND HAND SECOND MIND moves beyond observation and documentation to embark on a psychic journey that calls everyday truths into question while confronting the complexities of identity and loss. It is the first collaboration between Alfred Nicol and his sister Elise Nicol.

About the Creator
Alfred Nicol’s book of poetry, "Elegy for Everyone," published in 2009, was chosen for the first Anita Dorn Memorial Prize. An earlier volume, "Winter Light," received the 2004 Richard Wilbur Award. His poems have appeared in "Poetry," "The Hopkins Review," "Dark Horse," "First Things," "The Formalist," and other literary journals. Elise Nicol works in a variety of photo-based and other print media. Her imagery centers on the overlooked, the ephemeral, and especially all that grows unmanaged along the margins of the physical world. She shows regularly in galleries nationwide.
