“A life without art and artistic expression is an un-elegant life indeed. Words alone will never express the un-expressable as well as the stroke of a brush or a melody.” – Ottmar Liebert The ideas and concepts that I explore are influenced by photographers like Brassai, Bailey and Brandt. Artists that have had a profound impact on my work over many years are Fredrick McCubbin, Norman Lindsay and Fred Williams. Themes are often developed after meeting individual models but usually the ideas are built up over extended periods. Currently I have several projects in various stages of development. The primary focus is a series influenced by Norman Lindsay which I am hoping will be used in a book. The “Bodyscapes” is never far from my thoughts and using horses and models is always a real thrill.
