    About the Book

    Edit

Lying at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the city of Granada in the Andalusian region of Spain is a favourite destination of mine. I love the contrast of the old and new parts of the city and I love that it is easy to move around on foot or by using the hop-on buses. History is everywhere, from the grandeur of the Alhambra to the Cathedral through to the twisting narrow alleyways and roads of the Albaicin. There are even people who live in cave houses in the Sacromonte district in the Valparaiso hills overlooking the city where you can witness flamenco being performed.

Then there are the views. During either the day or night, the vistas from various viewing points above the Albaicin across to the Alhambra or from the Alhambra down on to the city are magnificent and well worth the effort.

Then there is the food. Besides the typical Spanish tapas on offer, the blend of Arabic and Moorish culture makes for some interesting finds in the older parts of the city. In contrast to the modern shops of the city centre you can wander into the Kasbah district in only a few minutes where you will find glowing lamps, brightly coloured clothing, a multitude of teas and spices and some wonderful characters who will barter with you for your custom. All in all, Granada is one of those places that I plan to revisit in the future.

I have also made the book available as a Large Square (12"x12") and as a downloadable iPad/iPhone version here: http://www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/2707461

I'm a documentary wedding photographer. I spend my time chasing and capturing memories for happy people on one of the most important days of their lives. It doesn't get much better than that! I've been passionate about many things throughout my life - my family, my work as a scientist and my geeky hobbies. But I've been a photographer all my life. Over time, I realised that I really love to photograph people so it was an easy decision to become a full-time documentary wedding photographer. My unobtrusive and sensitive style lends itself to photographing people in a natural way. I love capturing those special moments in time that will become someone else's memories - photographs that will allow them to recapture the emotion of that precise moment in time. If you would like me to help you to chase and capture those special moments in your life and have fun while we do it then please get in touch with me for an informal chat and let's see where it takes us!
