James Muncy was a very determined individual…even from the age of three when he outran his grandmother to get to his father’s arms. That determination, and God’s hand on his life, would sustain him through countless endeavors. His father wanted him to be the preacher in the family, and that along with the guidance of others made a great impression on James’ life. After his father’s death when James was six, things took a downward turn in his family. He left home at the age of fifteen. Education was important to him, even though his own early education was spotty. He taught school for a time until his family responsibilities compelled him to turn to carpentry to support his growing family. A remarkable encounter with a spiritual man greatly affected him and his wife Susie, and they resolutely dedicated their lives to God’s calling.
