About the Book
I should begin by pointing out that I am NOT a professional photographer. I use an outdated Nikon D50 with stock lenses and a Sony Cybershot point-and-shoot. I don't carry my camera nearly as often as I should and I frequently find myself cursing under my breath in those once in a lifetime moments when I'm left with only my own eyes to capture the beauty.
I should also point out that I'm not quite sure when I became so enthralled with photography. (I can't even make an estimated guess.) What I do know, is that my dad always had a knack for viewing life through a lens and often took our portraits and other candid shots when we were kids.
The first image in the book is the only image which I did not take. "Why include it?" you might ask. Well the answer is simple...I believe that, as kids, we take interest in what happens around us. With my dad constantly tinkering with all of that 'cool camera stuff' (this was before digital) and making us stand out by the willow tree for portraits, I suppose I subconsciously took interest in photography. Had he not left his Sony DSC-F707 Cybershot lying around the house, who knows when, or if, I'd have snapped those first few, ever so curious shots.
Whatever the case may be, I enjoy photography and I love capturing the moments that take your breath away. If anything that picture at least proves that I was one stylish little kid!
Enjoy the photos.
