I have always enjoyed taking photographs. Until the age of the digital camera these efforts were limited to occasional trips and special events but that quickly changed. Over the past 6 years my photography has become a growing passion. The combination of the freedom of digital photography and the control of an SLR camera allowed for constant experimentation, learning and growth. In February 2008, my cousin Brett Archibald and his lovely fiancée Carol Anne Pretty were getting married on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. The opportunity to be a part of their joyous occasion as well as returning to my second country Australia were too much to pass up. A month in the southern hemisphere and a few thousand pictures later I returned to my home in Toronto with great memories of friends and family along with the sights, sounds and wildlife that only Australia can offer. Since 2004 I have been posting my work on my website (www.altivelis.com) and the chance to compile some of my recent images in book format was an exciting and enjoyable experience. I hope whether you were part of the adventure or are just coming along for the ride you will enjoy the visual experiences that Australia offered and I was able to capture through my viewfinder.
