Belval est un quartier d'Esch-sur-Alzette, petite ville au sud-ouest du Luxembourg.



Ancien site majeur de la production luxembourgeoise d'acier, il a beaucoup souffert du déclin de l'industrie sidérurgique et fait actuellement l'objet d'un programme de reconversion extensive.



Le plan de réaménagement, chiffré à 450 M €, transformera les friches industrielles en un grand centre scientifique et culturel, et accueillera la faculté des sciences de l'Université du Luxembourg.



La plus grande salle de concert du Luxembourg, "Le Rockhal", y a ouvert ses portes en 2005.



Belval est desservi par deux gares gérées par les Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois:

Belval-Université et Belval-Rédange.

Belval is a quarter and neighbourhood in the west of Esch-sur-Alzette, in south-western Luxembourg.



Belval is the site of the large steelworks that dominate the city. Due to the dominance of the steelworks, Belval has suffered from the abandonment of steel production in Luxembourg, and is undergoing an extensive regeneration programme to help diversify beyond steel production.



The redevelopment plan, costed at €450m, will turn the brownfield site into a large scientific and cultural centre, including the science faculty of the University of Luxembourg.



It is the location of the Rockhal, Luxembourg's largest music venue, which was opened in 2005.



Belval is served by two railway stations operated by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois:

Belval-Université and Belval-Rédange.
