About the Creator
Paul Wheeler is a landscape photographer based in Christchurch, NZ. Paul trained in Geology and graduated with a degree in Geology from the University of Gloucestershire, UK in 1999 and is currently working as a Engineering Geologist for an international consultancy based in Christchurch, NZ. Paul’s profession takes him all over the world and his interest in Geology has led to a distinctive style in landscape and seascape photography where rockforms, geological and geomorphological processes form the basis of his work, often using techniques that capture the elements which physically create a landscape; those of time and erosion. Paul has been making images since he first picked up a camera at the age of 10, initially in a traditional darkroom producing monochrome prints; later moving onto fine art monochrome printing and alternative processes. Paul is also a freelance lecturer in photography and photographic techniques; in both the digital and silver based disciplines.
