    The Work

Marc Stringa is a professional Town Planner whose recent activities have taken him across North Africa and the Middle East, working on Regional, City and Site specific planning projects.

This photography articulates the context of his recent work, expressing sites and environments.

Due to the nature of his work he has experienced the excesses of growth first hand, as well as the significant shifts in attitudes to development which have engulfed this region.

His training is not that of a photographer but of an urban environment professional, consequently the images relate to how we live, how we create our environments, how we used to live and where we are heading.

This change has been both physical and social, the dynamic he sees in the Middle East isn't present anywhere else in the world.

The consequences of change varies significantly across the region expressing the difference between the 'new' and the 'old' Middle East .

    The Photographer

Marc has formal qualifications in Town Planning, Architecture, Building Conservation and Geography. These combine in his day job in attempting to resolve ever more complex questions about Urban Development.

Marc has worked with and for Governments and Developers in Australia, Asia and the Middle East on projects ranging in size from Regional development strategies to site specific building solution
