    About the Book

Five On Foot--- An up-close and personal running adventure story about of a family of 5 (three daughters, mom and dad) that ran from the tip of Florida to Ohio. This 4.5 month, 1,325 mile-by-mile obstacle course was staged on the berms of America's highways from the humid Florida coastal terrain, through Georgia's green forests, up the mountains of North Carolina, through Tennessee's bluegrass fields and onto a grand finish in Ohio. The family was hounded by the press and embraced by enthusiastic supporters, but as you will see, this challenge required physical endurance, mental strength, and courage the family had trained a lifetime for.

The take home message came in the form of a plaque from running peers that read: "Congratulations to those who not only dreamed the impossible dream....but ACCOMPLISHED IT."

Two years later this family of 5 were hired as public relations agents to run from the Maryland's Atlantic coast to California's Pacific shore; The Transcontinental; Sea-to-Shining-Sea Run, the next book in this family sport series.

    Naples, Florida

This, the first in my series of four books, starts a progressive true account of the how and why my family chose our unbelievable action-packed lifestyle. I have so many documents that include race records, photos, press copies, videos, articles and tangible awards to back-up all the sports achievements of our family of five, however no one, not one of us will sit long enough to read, let alone catalog all the collected data. We, the original Five on Foot are home-based in prestigious Naples on the Gulf, Florida. This is where we run our family seaside Neighborhood Cafe. The remainder of the year we enjoy long holidays in our 300 year old casa located within a former walled city Pueblo on the Costa Daurada, Cambrils, Spain. Ed and I still run 5K races, the other three team members tackle longer distance races, and prefer trail runs. Mostly though – we are always motivated by questioning ourselves....What’s next?
