    About the Book

    Edit

In honor of Nyana finally being able to come home, the ladies of “Winter Babies 2010/2011” decided to compile a recipe book. These recipes come from women from across Canada, who have all fallen in love with Nyana’s story and wish nothing but the best for her.

We chose a recipe book because Karen loves to cook, and we felt that it was the perfect way to express the love we have for your little family.

We hope that many years from now, Nyana will read this book, filled with Nyanakus and well-wishes penned by those touched by her story, and realize how much impact a tiny 2 pound micropreemie can have in the hearts of dozens of people she may never meet.

You are such inspirations to all of us, and we feel so blessed that Karen ended up in our birth club so that we could get to know such wonderful people.

Thank you for being awesome, and we hope that you enjoy this recipe book.

    With love,

    - Winter Babies 2010/2011

A bit more about Winter Babies 2010/2011

“Winter Babies 2010/2011” is a group of women who were all due in and around December 2010. There are about 100 of us in number, and we range in age from 20 to 42. Some of us are on our first

babies, while others are on their fifth. We found out that even though we are from many different walks of life, our babies united us and we have found comfort and companionship in the online company of dozens of women from across Canada.

We share our lives, and the ups and downs that go hand-in-hand with pregnancy, labor, and baby life. We also share in the happiness when things go right, and the tears when things go wrong. You never think that you can be “best friends” with someone you’ve never met in person, but somehow, in the past year that we’ve all been on the “baby ride”, we have developed such a deep connection to each other that it is hard to remember what it was like before we all came together.

We are a support group, a therapist, and your best friend all rolled into one. We are “Winter Babies 2010/2011”
