A stirring photo documentary highlighting the lighter side of a dark city. Though the City of Poughkeepsie is past its prime, this project set out to find those who still make it a place worth calling the "Queen City of the Hudson". Photographer Katie Warren took to the dangerous streets of the City of Poughkeepsie alone and on foot to investigate the good people within a community plagued by gang warfare and drugs. Shot over three days, the documentary tells the story of several local characters who opened their lives, sharing their powerful images and stories with the world.
