    About the Book

    Edit

The fall of 2009 brought six diverse people together at St. Lawrence College for the Level 3 Creative Photography Course instructed by Mieke Van Geest.

The six enjoyed Level 3 so much that Mieke agreed to arrange a special, off campus, Level 4 Course for this eager group of students. Level 4 solidified their mutual desire to push their personal creative boundaries and continue on in their photographic journeys. So, with the encouragement of Mieke, in the summer of 2010, Anne Blanchard, Chris Schroeder, Scott Miller, Sharon Buffett, Sharon Wilkinson and Ubah Kayleeyeh banded together to form the Xception group of photographers.

The Grand Opening of the show was held on 5 March 2011  from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Verb Gallery (located in the back of the Watfarer Book Store) 85 Princess Street, Kingston, Ontario Canada.

There were approximately 200 people in attendance in the two hours that all six photographers were present to meet and greet with family, friends, members of the art community in Kingston as well as, members of the Kingston Photography Club for their opening reception.  Feedback was very positive both verbally and, in the form of comments in the guest book that have been scanned and entered into this book.

The show ran from 5-26 March 2011.

This book is a culmination of their year long labour of love these six people had in getting their show off the ground.
