    About the Book

    Edit

Jeffrey Daniel Parry's life long love of the oceans has created a unique photography of seascapes. His kite aerial photography explores the California coast from a bird's eye view by attaching a fish-eye lens camera to the line of a kite. With inspiration and support from his father, stanparryphotography.com, Jeff has explored photography since he was a child. Jeff's photography reflects the beautiful coast that surrounds his home at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero, California.

Jeff has a BA from UC Santa Cruz in Cultural Anthropology. In 1997 he moved to the Pigeon Point Lighthouse where he worked as a naturalist for the Pigeon Point Environmental Education Program and as a live-in assistant at Hostelling International. Jeff taught children the natural history of the Northern Elephant Seals, California Gray Whales, and inter-tidal ecology of the rocky coast and Redwood forest life history. He was a volunteer naturalist docent at Ano Nuevo State Reserve for 6 seasons and Ranch Del Oso State Park at Waddell Creek for 2 seasons. From 2000 to 2002, Jeff was a Senior Park aid at Pigeon Point Light Station - State Historic Park. In 2003 became the General Manager of Hostelling International - Pigeon Point Lighthouse.

    Pescadero,CA, USA

I live and work at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse as the General Manager at Hostelling International. I use a circular fish-eye lens for my kite aerial photographs of seascapes. I also photograph the coast from a tripod utilizing multiple long exposure bracketed images to develop exposure fusion and high dynamic range images. I am a naturalist in the field and have been surfing since 1982. My images can be purchased at http://www.seasurfnbird.smugmug.com
