Inspired by actual events, The Rubber Duck Chronicles is a new children’s book series that follows the adventures of a community of rubber ducks lost at sea.

In 1992 the container ship Ever Laurel lost twelve containers of bath toys during a storm in the North Pacific Ocean. Over the course of the next 12-16 years the toys have been popping up on beaches across the world. Some ducks made landfall in Washington State and Alaska while others traveled as far as the North Pole, England and even South America.

The ducks revolutionized oceanography in regards to the study of currents. And over the last two decades, beachcombers around the world have eagerly sought them out.
