    About the Book

    Edit

For some reason Ethiopia has the name of a barren land. Most of the northern part of it is quite fertile, however. The Ethiopian highlands, with an elevation of six to ten thousand feet above sea level, are also known as 'the roof of Africa'.

The Christian church settled here in the 5th century and never left the country. History has it that the Ethiopian emperors were direct descendants from king Solomon. The last emperor, Haile Selassie, has followers as far as the Rastafarians in Jamaica, who use the colors of the Ethiopian flag as a token of recognition.

The pictures in this book were taken in 2009.
