The Longhopes Donkey Shelter has been a Colorado non-profit, tax-exempt charity in good standing for more than 10 years. Longhopes is dedicated to improving the welfare of donkeys through rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming, reduced reproduction and permanent sanctuary of donkeys, and donkey hybrids that would otherwise be at risk for neglect, abuse or death. Longhopes seeks to reduce owner abandonment of donkeys through education, training, financial services and lifelong support of Longhopes alumni and their adopters. Longhopes seeks to promote and create a national network of viable rescues to protect donkeys.
