    About the Book

    Edit

The Veil: Visible & Invisible Spaces -- an art exhibition that has been traveling throughout the U.S. since 2008 -- presents the work of thirty critically acclaimed artists from the United States, Europe, India and the Middle East. They address current clichés and stereotypes about the veil -- particularly Islamic practices -- with paintings, sculpture, photographs, videos, film, and installations, and reflects on the ubiquity, importance and profundity of the veil throughout human history and imagination.
