About the Creator
Luana was born and raised in Lima, Peru. At very early age she showed her passion to rescue animals. Her first rescues were wild birds including an owl which she trained and rehabilitated from an injured wing when she was only 6 yrs old. Later on she started rescuing dogs and cats but birds were always around. She also raised chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, rabbits, guinea hens, turkeys and a couple of pigglets. At age 12 she already mastered the skills to communicate with dogs in their own language. Her assertive and calm energy were great tools to approach dogs that were not trusting of humans due to abuse or injuries. In the U.S. she started helping dog rescue groups by fostering and training dogs in need. Luana passed a very difficult test to become a Certified Professional Pet Dog Trainer in 2010 and also became a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Luana currently fosters, trains and rehabilitates dogs that otherwise would be put down due to behavioral issues.
